''Your post on social media will stay forever.. Even if you deleted them seconds after they were posted."
We all have social media. Most of us use it daily and wouldn't be without it. We use it to find new people who share passions and interests even to do our research. Unfortunately just as in the offline world, its possible to hurt others online. Here at school every one has the rights to feel safe, this includes when using social media. We also all have a responsibility to promote safety.
Whether or not you're on campus, whether or not you're post is directed at another student or staff member and whether or not its actually related to the school in anyway doesn't actually matter.
Example you've post about how dumb and ugly you friend and many people have reacted to it and she/he feels embarrassed about it. What is your reaction when you hurt someone feelings?
Post that are rude, offensive gossip or romour spreading, racists sexiest, homophonic, bullying or harassing, threatening or unwanted by the recipient are not okay. What some people don't realize that it also okay to share, like or tag in post like that.
What you can do is first and foremost, do good , be respectful and be kind. Help create the sort of community or social media that we all want to work, study, live and play in a community where we look out for one another .
What you can publish on the internet can remain public for a long time even you deleted seconds after you posted. Content can be replicated and share beyond the original intended audience and send to people you never expected to see it or who may view it out of context before you post.
So are you aware how you post and what to post in social media? Therefore I conclude that your post on social media will stay forever even if you deleted seconds after you posted.
